FAQ

I'm a researcher by nature. I always have questions and I'm sure you do too. I'm happy to talk in person or on the phone if you prefer, but you might find this info helpful.

How much will it cost?: Exact quotes are difficult to provide because there are usually variances that can occur during the process such as proofing, photography, copywriting, etc. However, I strive to provide a reasonable range of fees based on the amount of time projected for the design, the “completeness” of supplied content (such as text copy, photos, etc. for a brochure) and the amount or types of digital files you might like me to create for your needs. I don’t charge on a strict hourly rate because I don’t believe in nickel and diming my clients or rushing to finish a job within a certain amount of budgeted hours. Before we start a project, we’ll discuss your needs and budget and I’ll give you an estimate. If I expect to go over the quote at any time (rare), I will discuss it with you before I continue.
How long will my project take?: Again, this varies with the complexity of your project. Many of my clients love my "quick turnaround time" for deadline-driven ads, etc. that can be as little as 1 hour or same day, but typical projects vary from two weeks to two months depending on the complexity and/or requirements. Once you have submitted your project details and desired deadline I can give you a projected timeline for completion.
What kind of files will you give me?: Your final project will be supplied to you as a PDF file which can be viewed and printed by anyone with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Upon request, I can supply you with additional files including files for importing into Microsoft programs, website usage, and standard vector format file types which can be scaled to any size without loss of quality.
Is a deposit required?: Typically I require a 50% deposit prior to beginning work, with the balance to be paid upon approval of final artwork and prior to its delivery, this includes payment for any printed media required such as business cards, brochures, etc. Once you become an established client, we can discuss billing options.
Can you arrange for my printing?: I offer full-service design and printing with competitive pricing. Once you approve your artwork, I will provide you with a printing cost, process your order for you and deliver your printed materials. It's kind of like hitting the "That Was Easy" button!
